Ouroboros
Emanations
Catholicon
I looked up the name of this song to see what kind of meaning it could have. Apparently, Catholicon simply is referring to some specific churches in a Catholic monastery.
Vocal
This vocal is very deep and drawn out. I am not a big fan of the back vocals that sound almost like a choir. I suppose it is trying to make things seem more epic.
Music
The pace is quite progressive, lots of symphonic elements I didn't expect. There were parts when the bass came right out at me. This song felt intensely long to me. I definitely prefer the chorus, it picks up and seems more consistent. But overall the layout of this song is hard for me to grab onto.
Lyrics
These lyrics seem to be talking about religious wars that have taken place. I don't know which exact one, as there have been many and is still a source of conflict.
Fear will destroy us, no peace, no solace.
from the (core) smallest seed of boon, grows monstrous weakness.
And the lie fastens marching legions,
with the helm spinning, waging bloodshed.
These lines make me think of the truth in this, "fear will destroy us". How much of these actions were done in fear?
Also, a lot of truth in "the lie fastens marching legions". How many instances of violence have started on a lie, but yet there are always large groups of people ready to kill people that don't think like them?
100% of people would put this song on their playlist!
