Windwaker
Empire
My Empire
The name of this makes me think of Zelda.
Vocals
I have a hard time getting into the really high, poppy-sounding vocal. Obviously, not everyone can do this. The screaming was an improvement, but not quite what I am looking for.
Music
The music is drawn-out in parts, and relying on the vocal. Other times, it is pretty straightforward. Nothing to blow me away, nothing to hate.
Lyrics
I am not sure what is going on here with these lyrics. It seems like going home is associated with giving up. Maybe it is moving in with your parents, and saying you aren't doing a good job on your own - hitting the reset button. Maybe you were trying to pursue something you thought was beyond sticking to only where you are from, but the plans are falling through. Maybe home treated you terribly, so you see it in a negative light, and going back there would be with your tail between your legs, and not in your best interest. Not sure, but the person is holding onto a shred of hope that they can get it together. They can change something. I like the positive message.
I'm not giving up
I'm not coming home
Time is on my side, time is on my side
I’m not coming home
Did you ever think your life would change
As you struggle through pillows and you forget your name?
Did you ever think your life would change
As you live each day the same?
