Fuck The Facts

Pleine Noirceur

Pleine Noirceur

Vocals

Stays emotional, like someone actually losing their crap! I feel like this is good on a mixed list. The vocal might become grating if it was an entire album (some vocals are like this for me).

Music

The drums stick out to me because they move around, but go from one strong beat to another. The guitar blends more into the background. Plays 3rd place for me after the drums and vocals.

Lyrics

Translated to English, the name of the song is Full Darkness. I feel like it is hard to define exactly what this song is about. Obviously there is a struggle of some kind, something that requires determination to make it through.

Pliée en deux, c’est au centre que la douleur crie

Folded in half, it is in the center that the pain cries out

The idea that the center is where the pain cries out makes sense. It is from your core where a lot pain comes. I feel for some, they wear it on their sleeve; they are open books. Some let it out in bits, and some collapse when it finally fights its way out, despite their best efforts to not allow that.

On attendait sagement la mort mais elle est déjà passée
Je subsiste malgré l’adversaire avide
Je suis le vent froid d’hiver

We wisely waited for death but it has already passed
I survive despite the greedy adversary
I am the cold winter wind

This part makes me think of a local lady that was honored for her family's part in sheltering Jews during World War 2. The family put themselves in danger for a lengthy period of time to save others from the torture that awaited them. One can only imagine what this would have been like. It would feel like death kept passing by, and somehow you escaped it.

Je vais être ok
Mais pas aujourd’hui, ni demain

I will be ok
But not today, not tomorrow

I like the acknowledgement here that it will take time, and there is hope.
