Knocked Loose

A Tear in the Fabric of Life

Forced to Stay

Vocals

I think it is crazy that this guy can go so high with his vocal, but I like it. The talking parts in the background add to the feeling of unease.

Music

I like the changes throughout. They all made sense to me. This song feels different than ones I heard off their last album. For me the song is about the way the sound moves around. Works for me. I like how it ended solemnly. I am drawn to the moodiness.

Lyrics

Anytime someone is forced to do something, it becomes an uneasy topic. The title is noting this coercion.

I am judged and set on fire
At the stand, falling deaf to their cries
The bleating of a hundred voices
In unison asking me why

Why did I take a chance and gamble life?
Every sign points me back to the dorm
In my head, you say "I told you so"
We should've left before the storm

These lyrics I think are talking about the end of life. The beginning talks about death, and then this feeling that you were at fault, and made the wrong decisions with your life. Now you have to suffer the consequence, and it seems like others are very aware of your failure - they are confronting you. Maybe it is using this illustration to let out feelings of uncertainty about some parts of your life, or maybe it is a bigger contemplation about death?
