This band is new to me. So, I don't know if this song is representative of their normal sound considering it is featuring a member from Katatonia.

Vocals

Obviously, Jonas can sing, so having him in it is nice! He brings the calm, steady starting pace. I think when the band's regular singer comes in, it is a welcome change of pace as well, though. 

Music

This song opens in a melodic, atmospheric place. I like how it changes half-way through to that repetitive riff, and then into something completely different where the keyboard and guitar take center stage. I enjoyed it.

Lyrics

The title indicates that this is to do with the Devonian period, and is leaning on the idea of the beginning of something existing.

I think these lyrics indicate something someone wanted to take on, but it seems pretty hard. Maybe almost out of reach.

I can think of a few things that feel that way right now, personally. Don't give up!

But no one came to tell me
This road was overgrown and so elusively kept
